FAQ

What is RTP in online slots and why does it matter?
RTP (Return to Player) is the percentage of wagered money a slot pays back over time. A 96% RTP slot theoretically returns £96 for every £100 wagered. Higher RTP offers better long-term value, though individual sessions vary due to volatility. See our RTP guide, or how to find and verify high RTP slots.
What is the difference between RTP and volatility?
RTP is how much a slot returns over the long run; volatility is how it returns it. A high volatility slot pays rarely but large, a low volatility slot pays often but small, and two games with identical 96% RTP can feel completely different to play. RTP tells you the cost, volatility tells you the ride — the detail is in our slot volatility guide.
How do casino wagering requirements work?
Wagering requirements are how many times you must bet a bonus before withdrawing. A £10 bonus at 10x needs £100 in bets. Slots usually contribute 100%, table games far less. UK wagering is capped at 10x from 19 January 2026, and a casino bonus must now be wagered on casino games only — the detail is in our 2026 bonus rules guide.
What is the max bet rule on a casino bonus?
It caps how much you can stake on a single spin, hand or round while a wagering requirement is outstanding, most commonly £5. Breaching it even once can void the bonus and every pound won with it, and enforcement is automatic. Covering a dozen roulette numbers is the most common accidental breach, because the total staked across the table counts as one bet — full detail in our max bet rule guide.
Why does an online casino need my ID?
Because the Gambling Commission’s licence conditions require operators to verify your age and identity before you can deposit, bet or access any gambling product. Behind that sit two legal duties: preventing under-18s from gambling, and anti-money-laundering law, which treats a licensed casino much as it treats a bank. Our ID verification guide covers what to send and how long it takes.
How long do casino withdrawals take in the UK?
There are two stages. The casino’s pending review typically takes a few minutes to 48 hours, then the payment rail adds its own time: minutes to a few hours for e-wallets and instant bank transfers, one to three working days for a standard debit card, and one to five working days for a bank transfer. See our withdrawal times guide.
Should I read the blackjack rules or the basic strategy guide first?
Rules first. Our blackjack rules guide covers card values, the dealer’s fixed draw rules, when you can double, split or surrender, and the table conditions that change the house edge — including the 6:5 blackjack payout that roughly triples it. Basic strategy then tells you the correct decision for every hand once you know what the options are.
Can a roulette system beat the house edge?
No. Every spin is independent and the wheel has no memory, so staking patterns like the Martingale, Fibonacci or D’Alembert cannot change the maths. A European single-zero wheel carries roughly a 2.7% house edge against 5.26% on American roulette — picking the wheel is the only choice that moves your odds. We break each system down in roulette systems explained.
How do I choose a safe online casino in the UK?
Check for a UK Gambling Commission licence on the regulator’s public register, plus SSL encryption, reputable software providers, clear bonus terms and responsive support. Our safe casino guide walks through it.
