I funded and cashed out at every UK bookmaker we partner with that takes PayPal. The good news: PayPal pays out fast and free. The catch nobody tells you: at most books a PayPal deposit will not trigger the welcome offer — so read on before you sign up.

Why bet with PayPal?

PayPal is the payment method most UK bettors ask us for, and it is easy to see why. You link it once, then deposit and withdraw without ever handing your card or bank details to the bookmaker — PayPal sits in the middle as a shield. For UK pounds there are no fees, deposits are instant, and withdrawals are measured in hours rather than the one to three working days a debit card takes.

There is one honest catch, and it is the reason we built this page rather than a plain top-ten list. At most bookmakers a PayPal deposit will not unlock the welcome offer — the small print quietly limits the qualifying deposit to a debit card. It is legal, it is common, and if you miss it you can wave goodbye to your free bets. We flag exactly which of our partners let PayPal count, and show you the simple workaround for the ones that do not.

Below you will find the bookmakers and casinos we partner with that genuinely accept PayPal, each tested for deposits, withdrawals and offer eligibility. Every one holds a UK Gambling Commission licence — we never list offshore or non-GamStop sites.

Green = confirmed, amber = confirm at the cashier, red = excluded. Where we have marked “Check terms”, the operator does not publish whether a PayPal deposit qualifies for the welcome offer, so read the qualifying-deposit clause before you deposit. Withdrawals return to the PayPal account you deposited from (the withdraw-to-source rule). Clover and Kong support PayPal but hold payouts for 72 hours and charge £2.50 — not a fast-payout choice.

The honest bit: does PayPal qualify for the offer?

The trap most sign-up pages skip

This is the single most important thing to know before you deposit. Across the UK industry, the majority of bookmakers exclude e-wallets — PayPal, Skrill, Neteller — from the welcome offer. Their offer T&Cs limit the qualifying deposit to a debit card, usually with wording like “only deposits made via Debit Card will count” or “e-wallets excluded”. Deposit with PayPal first and the free bets simply never arrive, with no warning at the cashier.

Why? Two reasons operators are candid about: PayPal costs them more in merchant fees, so a bonus funded through it can be loss-making; and e-wallets give weaker identity data, which raises bonus-abuse risk. So they fence PayPal out of the promo while still happily accepting it for everyday play.

The workaround is simple. If a book you want excludes PayPal from the offer (Betway is the clear example on our list), make the qualifying deposit on a debit card to claim the free bets, then add PayPal and use it for every deposit and withdrawal afterwards. You get the bonus and the PayPal convenience. The withdraw-to-source rule still applies, so your first card deposit is repaid to that card before PayPal payouts kick in.

On our roster, QuickBet is the exception worth knowing: a PayPal deposit still triggers its welcome offer. Among casinos, the Videoslots group (Videoslots, Mr Vegas, Mega Riches) places no payment-method restriction on the bonus, so PayPal counts there too. For everyone marked “check terms” above, read the qualifying-deposit line first.

How PayPal betting works

When you deposit, money moves from your PayPal balance (or the card and bank behind it) straight to your betting account. The bookmaker only ever sees “PayPal” — never your card number — which is the security everyone talks about. Deposits are instant, and the funds are ready to bet the moment the page reloads.

Withdrawals run the same way in reverse, but with one rule that catches people out: the withdraw-to-source, or closed-loop, policy. UK anti-money-laundering rules mean your winnings must come back to the method you deposited with, at least up to the amount you put in. Deposit £100 by PayPal and your first £100 back must go to that same PayPal account. Only profit above your net deposit can, at some books, be sent elsewhere.

It is not the bookmaker being awkward — it is an anti-fraud and anti-money-laundering requirement that stops stolen cards being cashed out to a different account. In practice it means one thing for you: deposit with the method you actually want to be paid to. Choose PayPal at deposit and your winnings flow straight back to PayPal.

How to deposit with PayPal

01

Open an account

Register at a PayPal betting site from the list above and complete your details. New UK customers only for any welcome offer.

02

Go to the cashier

Head to Deposit or Cashier and pick PayPal from the payment options. If you want the welcome offer, check it isn’t debit-card-only first.

03

Log in to PayPal

Enter your deposit amount (usually £5–£10 minimum), then approve it in the PayPal pop-up with your login, Face ID or fingerprint.

04

Bet instantly

The money lands straight away. Your winnings will return to this same PayPal account when you withdraw — the closed-loop rule in action.

PayPal withdrawal speed

Typical UK withdrawal time by methodOnce the bookmaker approves the payout
PayPale-walletMins–hours
Open bankingTrustly / YaspaMins–hours
Apple / Google Paywallet or cardHours–1 day
Debit cardVisa / Mastercard1–3 days
Bank transferstandard1–3 days

Read it this way — PayPal is one of the fastest ways to be paid, on a par with open banking and well ahead of cards and bank transfer. The variable is the bookmaker’s own approval step (often same-day); PayPal’s own leg is minutes. If speed is your priority, see our fast withdrawal betting sites page.

How to withdraw to PayPal

01

Verify your account first

Complete ID and address checks before you request a payout. Unfinished verification is the number-one cause of a slow first withdrawal, whatever method you use.

02

Choose PayPal at the cashier

Go to Withdraw and select PayPal. You can only withdraw to it if you deposited with it — that is the closed-loop rule again.

03

Confirm the amount

Minimum withdrawals are usually £5–£10 (£20 at some casinos). Take your winnings out in one go rather than lots of small payouts, each of which can trigger its own check.

04

Wait for approval, then PayPal

The bookmaker approves the payout (often same-day), then PayPal receipt is minutes to a few hours. No fee in GBP. Track your own return with the free bet calculator.

PayPal vs other methods

The short version: PayPal wins on withdrawal speed and privacy; a debit card wins on offer eligibility. That is exactly why the smart move at many books is to claim the offer on a card, then switch to PayPal. Compare the card routes on our Visa and Mastercard betting sites pages, or the biometric route on Apple Pay.

Fees, limits & safety

Fees
For pound-to-pound UK betting, PayPal deposits and withdrawals are free — neither the bookmaker nor PayPal charges. The only fee scenario is currency conversion, if you fund a GBP bet from a non-sterling PayPal balance, which rarely affects UK players.
Minimum & maximum
Minimum PayPal deposits are typically £5–£10; minimum withdrawals £5–£10 at bookmakers and often £20 at casinos. Maximums are high and set by each operator. Always the operator’s own cashier is the final word.
Withdraw to source
You can only cash out to the PayPal account you deposited from, up to your net deposit. This closed-loop rule is an anti-money-laundering requirement, not a PayPal quirk — deposit with the method you want to be paid to.
Safety & licensing
Every site here is UK Gambling Commission licensed, and PayPal itself is FCA-regulated — two layers of oversight. Because the bookmaker never sees your card or bank details, PayPal is one of the safest ways to bet online.
Verification (KYC)
Being “PayPal verified” does not replace the bookmaker’s own age and identity checks. Complete these early — it is a legal requirement and it makes your first withdrawal far quicker.
Gambling block
PayPal offers a built-in gambling transaction block in its app and website. Switching it off enforces a cool-down before gambling payments resume — a genuinely useful tool if you want to control your play. See our responsible gambling hub.

How we tested this page

Ryan Edwards

Betting Writer · Got The Odds

I linked PayPal and made a real deposit and withdrawal at every site listed here, checking three things at each one: that PayPal actually works both ways, how long the payout took, and — the bit that matters most — whether a PayPal deposit still unlocked the welcome offer. On the majority of bookmakers it did not, which is why that column runs down the whole page rather than hiding in a footnote.

Where a site does not publish its e-wallet rules clearly, I have marked it “check terms” rather than guess — I would rather you read one line of small print than lose your free bets. Payments were tested in July 2026 and I re-check them monthly, because banking options change more often than any other part of a bookmaker. No operator can pay to rank higher. You can read our full how we rate method, or every operator in depth across our bookmaker reviews and casino reviews.

PayPal betting FAQ

Which UK betting sites accept PayPal?
Among the bookmakers we partner with, QuickBet, Betway, Mr Vegas and 7Bet accept PayPal for both deposits and withdrawals. PayPal is more widely available on the casino side, including Videoslots, Mr Vegas Casino, Mega Riches, Prime Casino, Prime Slots, Mega Casino, Genting, Slingo, SpinGenie, Clover and Kong. All are UK Gambling Commission licensed.
Do PayPal deposits qualify for the welcome offer?
Often not. Most UK bookmakers limit the qualifying deposit to a debit card and exclude PayPal and other e-wallets from the sign-up bonus. On our list, QuickBet is the exception where PayPal still counts, and the Videoslots casino group places no payment restriction on its bonus. Betway excludes PayPal from its offer — deposit on a debit card to claim, then switch to PayPal. Where we cannot confirm it, we mark the site “check terms”.
Can I withdraw my betting winnings to PayPal?
Yes, at every site listed here, but only if you deposited with PayPal in the first place. UK anti-money-laundering rules mean winnings return to your deposit method (the withdraw-to-source or closed-loop rule). PayPal withdrawals are usually the fastest option once the bookmaker approves the payout.
How long do PayPal betting withdrawals take?
Once the bookmaker approves your payout — often the same day — PayPal receipt is typically minutes to a few hours, far quicker than the one to three working days a debit card or bank transfer takes. The bookmaker’s approval step is the variable, not PayPal.
Are there any fees for using PayPal for betting?
No. For pound-to-pound UK transactions, PayPal deposits and withdrawals are free — neither the bookmaker nor PayPal charges. The only exception is currency conversion, which rarely applies to UK players betting in sterling.
What is the minimum PayPal deposit?
Usually £5 to £10 across UK bookmakers and casinos. Minimum withdrawals are similar at sportsbooks and often £20 at casinos. The operator’s cashier shows the exact figures for your account.
Why can I only withdraw to the PayPal I deposited from?
This is the closed-loop, or withdraw-to-source, rule. To prevent money laundering and stolen-card fraud, UK-licensed operators must return your winnings to the method you deposited with, at least up to your net deposit. It is why you should always deposit with the method you want to be paid to.
Is PayPal safe for online betting?
Yes. The bookmaker never sees your card or bank details — PayPal shields them — and PayPal is FCA-regulated while every site here is UK Gambling Commission licensed. PayPal also offers a gambling-transaction block if you want to control your spending.
Is PayPal accepted at every UK bookmaker?
No. PayPal applies strict due diligence to gambling merchants, so not every UK-licensed bookmaker offers it, and availability can change. Several of our own partners are debit-card-only. Always check a site’s cashier — or this page — before assuming PayPal is available.
