Does BetGoodwin have Best Odds Guaranteed?

BetGoodwin Best Odds Guaranteed: Horses And Greyhounds

Yes — on horses and greyhounds, from 10am, no exclusions.

The greyhound part is the bit worth your attention. Almost every UK bookmaker that runs BOG restricts it to horse racing, and the list got shorter again on 1 December 2025 when Star Sports withdrew its own. If you bet the dogs, your options are genuinely few.

What You’re Actually Getting

Best Odds Guaranteed is a promise rather than a promotion. You take an early price; if your selection starts at a bigger SP, BetGoodwin pays you at the SP instead. You get the better of the two, every time, and there is nothing to claim.

It only ever works one way. Back something at 6/1 and watch it shorten to 4/1, you keep your 6/1. Watch it drift to 9/1 and you are paid at 9/1. There is no version of a BOG bet where the guarantee costs you anything.

That is why it matters more than it looks on a promotions page. It is not a bonus you collect once. It is a small edge applied silently to every early-price bet you place, for as long as you hold the account.

The Greyhound Bit

If you bet the dogs, this is the reason to read on.

Most UK bookmakers that advertise Best Odds Guaranteed apply it to horse racing only. Greyhounds get left out, usually without the terms making that especially obvious, and you find out when a 5/1 shot goes off at 8/1 and your bet settles at 5/1 anyway.

BetGoodwin covers both. Same promotion, same 10am start, no separate opt-in.

And this got rarer recently. Star Sports used to run BOG across UK and Irish horse and greyhound racing — then removed the promotion entirely on 1 December 2025. That took one of the few greyhound BOG options off the table, which leaves BetGoodwin in an unusually strong spot for anyone whose main interest is the dogs.

We would not normally tell you a single promotion is worth opening an account for. This one, if you bet greyhounds regularly, comes close.

The Terms, Plainly

Four things govern it. None of them are unusual, but you should know them before you rely on it.

It starts at 10am. Bets placed before 10am on the day of the race settle at the price you took, with no SP protection. That is slightly later than some rivals — QuinnBet runs from 8:30am — and it is the one thing that catches early risers.

There are no festival exclusions. This is where a lot of bookmakers quietly carve out the big meetings, exactly when drifts are largest and BOG is worth most. BetGoodwin covers all four days of Cheltenham along with everything else.

It covers UK and Irish racing. International meetings are not included, which is standard across the market.

Free bets are excluded. Also standard. Your welcome tokens settle at the price taken.

What It’s Worth To You

Entirely depends on when you place your bets, and it is worth being honest about that rather than selling you a number.

If you bet at SP, or in-running, or in the last few minutes before the off, BOG will rarely pay you anything. The price has already settled. You are not losing much by being somewhere without it.

If you take prices the night before or first thing, you are getting the better of two prices on every bet, permanently. Across a season of regular racing betting that compounds in a way no welcome offer does — BetGoodwin’s own sign-up bonus is £15, paid once. BOG keeps paying every week you hold the account.

The honest summary: the welcome offer here is modest and you should not choose BetGoodwin for it. The standing promotions are the reason, and BOG is the biggest of them.

The Rest Of The Racing Package

BOG is not working alone, and this is where BetGoodwin genuinely pulls away from books several times its size.

  • Beaten By A Nose — free bet up to £100 if your horse loses by a nose in any UK or Irish race at 1/2 or bigger
  • Beaten By Under Half A Length In Chases — free bet up to £100
  • Faller Insurance — stake back in National Hunt racing if your horse falls, is brought down or unseats
  • Extra places across Cheltenham, Royal Ascot and the other big festivals

That is the sort of thing a phone bookmaker offered when it wanted your custom for a decade rather than a weekend, and that is more or less exactly what Goodwin Racing was before it went online in 2022.

Just know the shape of it: the generosity is almost entirely on racing. If you are mainly a football punter you get Acca Insurance and a Create-a-Bet bonus, and that is about the lot.

Before You Sign Up

One thing to know that has nothing to do with BOG, because it catches people and we would rather you heard it here.

BetGoodwin charges 5%, minimum £3, if you withdraw without having wagered at least half your most recent deposit. Bet with the money and withdrawals are free; deposit and change your mind and it will cost you. We cover exactly when it bites on our BetGoodwin withdrawal fee page.

Payments are also Visa and Mastercard debit only — no PayPal, no e-wallets, no Apple Pay. On the upside, Visa Direct payouts landed in under 30 minutes when we tested them, which is quicker than most e-wallets manage anyway.

BetGoodwin Best Odds Guaranteed FAQs

Does BetGoodwin have Best Odds Guaranteed?

Yes. BetGoodwin applies Best Odds Guaranteed to all UK and Irish horse racing and greyhound racing from 10am daily, with no festival or meeting exclusions. If the starting price is bigger than the odds you took, you are paid at the SP automatically with nothing to claim.

Does BetGoodwin’s BOG cover greyhounds?

Yes, and that is unusual. Most UK bookmakers running Best Odds Guaranteed restrict it to horse racing and leave greyhounds out. BetGoodwin covers both under the same terms and the same 10am start. The option became scarcer on 1 December 2025, when Star Sports — which had covered greyhounds under its own BOG — removed the promotion entirely.

What time does BetGoodwin BOG start?

10am on the day of the race. Bets placed before 10am settle at the price you took, with no starting-price protection. That is slightly later than some rivals — QuinnBet runs from 8:30am — so if you like to get your bets on first thing, it is the detail to watch.

Does BetGoodwin BOG apply at Cheltenham?

Yes, across all four days, and at the other major festivals too. There are no meeting exclusions, which matters because festival markets are exactly where prices drift most and where several bookmakers quietly suspend their own BOG.

Do free bets qualify for Best Odds Guaranteed?

No. Bets placed with free bet credit settle at the price you took, with no SP protection. This is standard across UK bookmakers and applies to the three £5 tokens from the BetGoodwin welcome offer as well.

Is BOG worth more than a big welcome offer?

If you bet racing regularly at early prices, usually yes. A welcome offer pays once; Best Odds Guaranteed applies to every qualifying bet for as long as you hold the account. BetGoodwin’s own sign-up bonus is £15, which is modest — the standing racing promotions are the real argument for the account, not the sign-up.

He spent twelve years on the trading side of the industry, compiling racing and football prices for an independent sportsbook, before moving to full-time analysis and writing in 2020. That background shapes the way he works: he starts from the price, works out what it implies, then asks whether the form actually supports it. His racing coverage leans on a speed-figure and sectional database he has maintained since 2014, covering British and Irish Flat racing. On football he concentrates on the EFL, where team news and squad depth move a market far more than they do in the Premier League, and on the derivative markets — corners, cards, Asian handicaps — that most bettors skim past.
