Best Odds Guaranteed is the reason most people hold a QuinnBet account, and it is the one thing this bookmaker does better than operators many times its size.
The concession itself is common. Nearly every UK bookmaker offers some version of it. What differs — and what almost nobody reads until it costs them — is the small print.
What Best Odds Guaranteed Actually Means
If you take an early price on a horse and it starts at a bigger price, Best Odds Guaranteed pays you at the bigger one. Take 8/1 in the morning, the horse goes off at 14/1, you get paid at 14/1.
It only ever works in your favour. If the price shortens — you took 8/1 and it starts at 4/1 — you keep the 8/1 you took. There is no downside to it, which is precisely why the terms attached to it matter so much.
QuinnBet’s Best Odds Guaranteed Terms in Full
Here is the whole thing, in one place, so you can decide for yourself rather than finding out on settlement.
| Term | QuinnBet |

| Races covered | All UK and Irish horse racing |
| Meeting or festival exclusions | None |
| Opt-in required | No — applied automatically |

| Bet types excluded | Ante-post, enhanced accumulators, specials |
| Free bet stakes | Do not qualify — must be your own funds |
| Maximum benefit | £250 per bet |
Two of those deserve more than a table row, because they are the ones that catch people out.
The 8:30am Start
Bets placed before 8:30am do not qualify. If you are the sort to have a look at the racing the night before and get your bets on then, you are outside the concession entirely — and you will not be told at the point of placing the bet.
The fix is simply to wait. Put the same selection on after 8:30 and it is covered. Overnight prices are rarely worth the loss of BOG on a drifting horse.
The £250 Cap
The maximum benefit is £250 per bet. That is the extra money BOG pays you, not your total return, so it only bites on larger stakes or very big drifts.
A £10 win bet taken at 8/1 that goes off at 14/1 pays £60 more than the price you took — comfortably inside the cap. The same drift on a £50 stake is worth £300, so you would be paid £250 of it. Worth knowing if you bet in three figures; irrelevant to most people.
What It’s Actually Worth
The value of BOG is easy to underestimate because it arrives quietly, a few pounds at a time, across a season. Here is one bet to make it concrete.
| £10 win bet | Price taken 8/1 | Starting price 14/1 |
|---|---|---|
| Returns if it wins | £90 | £150 |
| Profit | £80 | £140 |
| Difference | £60 from one race | |
That is a single bet. The reason unrestricted BOG matters more than a one-off welcome bonus is that a bookmaker’s £25 sign-up offer arrives once, and this arrives every time a horse you backed drifts — which, at a big-field festival handicap, is most of them.
The days early prices drift hardest are the days with the most runners and the most money in the market. Those also happen to be the days that tend to get excluded elsewhere.
Before a Festival, Check Your Other Accounts
Several major UK bookmakers restrict or withdraw Best Odds Guaranteed on their biggest racing days, and the specific exclusions change from year to year. We are not going to name days here that might be out of date by the time you read it.
What we will say is this: before Cheltenham, Aintree or Royal Ascot, open the racing terms page at every book you hold and read the exclusions. It takes five minutes and it is the single most valuable five minutes of admin in the racing calendar. QuinnBet is one of the accounts where you will find nothing to worry about.
How BOG Interacts With QuinnBet’s Other Racing Offers
Best Odds Guaranteed is not the only racing concession here, and the combination is where the account earns its keep.
QuinnBet runs extra places on the big festival handicaps, money back if your selection finishes second to the favourite in races with six or more runners, and faller insurance through the National Hunt season. Stacked on top of an unrestricted BOG policy, that is a genuinely strong racing package for a book this size.
One caveat: free bet stakes do not qualify for BOG. If you are using a free bet from one of those promotions, you will be paid at the price you took, not the SP.
Who This Suits
- You take early prices rather than betting at SP
- You bet the big-field festival handicaps where drifts are largest
- You back each-way and want extra places on top of the guaranteed price
- You follow Irish racing as well as UK
- You bet at SP anyway — BOG does nothing for you
- You bet ante-post, which is excluded
- You place your bets the night before and won’t wait until 8:30am
- You only bet football — this concession is racing only
Best Odds Guaranteed FAQs
Does QuinnBet offer Best Odds Guaranteed at Cheltenham?
Yes. QuinnBet applies Best Odds Guaranteed to all UK and Irish horse racing with no meeting or festival exclusions, which includes the Cheltenham Festival, the Grand National meeting and Royal Ascot. Several larger bookmakers restrict the concession on their biggest racing days, so it is worth checking the racing terms at any other book you hold before a festival.
Do I need to opt in to QuinnBet Best Odds Guaranteed?
No. It is applied automatically to qualifying bets. There is no opt-in, no weekly turnover you have to reach first, and it is not restricted to invited customers.
What time does QuinnBet Best Odds Guaranteed start?
8:30am each day. Bets placed before 8:30am do not qualify, including overnight bets placed the evening before. Placing the same selection after 8:30am brings it inside the concession.
Is there a maximum payout on QuinnBet Best Odds Guaranteed?
Yes — the maximum benefit is £250 per bet. That is the additional amount BOG pays you above the price you took, not a cap on your total returns. On a £10 stake a drift from 8/1 to 14/1 is worth £60, well inside the cap; on larger stakes a big drift can exceed it.
Does Best Odds Guaranteed apply to accumulators at QuinnBet?
Yes. It applies to singles and multiples, including Lucky 15s, Lucky 31s, Lucky 63s, Trixies, Patents and Yankees. It does not apply to enhanced accumulators, specials or ante-post markets.
Can I use a free bet and still get Best Odds Guaranteed?
No. Stakes placed with free bets do not qualify for Best Odds Guaranteed — the bet must be placed with your own funds. If you are using a free bet from one of QuinnBet’s racing promotions, you will be settled at the price you took.
